エモなのかオルタナなのかわからないけれど好きなバンド。
この曲は Pneuma という彼らの最初？のアルバムの最後の曲。
アルバムが自然、神などに触れているので曲もそんな雰囲気です。

今回はDeath Cab for Cutie というアメリカのバンドの "What Sarah Said" という曲を選びました。
恋人？の女性との死別がテーマの曲です。
PVも素晴らしいです。

Just the Way I'm Feeling / Feeder
今回は "Feeder" というバンドの "Just the Way I'm Feeling" という曲に挑戦してみました。
Feederはイギリスで95年から活動している古株のバンドです。
因みに、ベースの Taka Hirose さんは本名「広瀬隆」という日本人の方です。

Youth / Daughter
歌詞翻訳一つ目です。
今回はイギリスの"Daughter"というバンドの"Youth"という曲を選んでみました。
このバンドはまだ発足して2年程度でボーカルの"Elena Tonra"(エレーナ・トンラ)はおそらく私と同世代。(詳しい年齢はよく分かりません)
初めて聴いた彼らの曲がこの曲だったのですが、明るめでフォークっぽい音の割りに歌詞に陰鬱さが漂ってる点がとても気に入りました。(暗い曲が好きなんです・・・・・)
翻訳してたのですが、やはり英語の表現を日本人のそれに表現し直すというのは難しいですね。かなり主観的な見解で訳してみました。(完全に自己満足です)
この曲は「青春」や「若さ」故の早る気持ち、恋の過ち、後悔、それを埋めるためにまた重ねる過ちを表現しているようです。

ブログを初めてみました。
実は以前からブログをやろうとは思っていたのですが、特に行動を起こすことなく過ごしていました。
ついに思い切ってやります。
まぁ理由というのは特に無く。
何となくですね。
強いて言うなら、「文章力の強化」を目的とするくらいでしょうか。
ただ、書く内容も無いので、このブログでは好きな海外バンドの曲の歌詞翻訳を載せていこうと思います。
周りに同じような音楽的嗜好をもった人間がおらず、
「もっと海外インディーズバンドを知って欲しい！！」
という私のエゴからですね。
ブログのタイトルについてですが、
「きび団子が好きだから」
と理由だけでこのタイトルになりました。
だらだらとした記事ですがこれにて失礼します。
